Aquaculture can happen in ocean waters, freshwater ponds, and rivers - it’s basically farming in water. Aquaculture has lower greenhouse gas emissions than other types of farming and has the potential to improve the health of our population due to,, greener” food growing way.
Just recently China presented the vessel named Guoxin-1 - this is an entirely new mobile fish farming model including aquafarm. It’s installed with a water exchange system between the tanks and the sea, allowing to have more control of the aquafarming processes.
Innovations adopted in the right way help to create healthier habitats and also can become a huge push for the whole fishery processing industry’s growth and development.
This could lead to expansion of fish production and give a big advantage too. Putting the farm on a ship means access to water, and more fresh produce - when breeding and harvesting of fish happen at the same place.
Having these aquafarming solutions would allow the integration of fish processing and packing facility on spot and could become a new wave of the future.
